Web-Based Radio Station a First at Hilbert

Web-Based Radio Station a First at Hilbert

HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College’s debut this summer of Hawk Radio, a 24-hour Web-based streaming radio station that potentially can be heard anywhere in the world, marks the college’s first campus-wide broadcasting endeavor.

Hosted by Live 365 Radio, listeners can tune in to Hawk Radio, which officially began broadcasting in July, at hawkradio.hilbert.edu. Initially, programming will be music-driven with the goal of adding campus news, sports and talk programs into the schedule as students become involved in the station once the academic year gets underway in September.

Spearheaded by Donald Vincent, Ph.D., assistant professor of digital media and communication, creation of an online radio station at Hilbert was conceived about four years ago at a time when the medium was already well established in the mainstream.

Classic London Golf Course Dates Back to 1924

While Western New York is known for its many challenging golf courses, all golfers can appreciate the experience of trying a course that’s new to them. Established in 1924 and situated along the beautiful Thames River, the Thames Valley Golf Course is just 10 minutes from downtown London, Ontario. This 18-hole Classic Course features natural topography of the land, pleasant and picturesque elevation changes, mature tree-lined fairways and tricky undulating greens. The experience is extraordinary!

Additionally, the nine-hole Hickory Course has a mixture of par fours and threes with wider fairways and shorter holes, making it an easier walk for beginners, seniors and children.
