Kaleida Health Invites Women to the Entertaining and Informational Spirit Girls’ Night Out

Women can discover secrets to better breast health, vascular health and better rest at this year’s entertaining and informational Spirit Girls’ Night Out SM  hosted by Kaleida Health in partnership with Reader’s Digest, ResMed and the Vascular Disease Foundation on Thursday, October 7 from 6-9pm in the courtyard at the Millennium Hotel at 2040 Walden Avenue, Buffalo 14225.

Health education, health screenings, and fun activities including a fashion show, great food, and giveaways will be woven throughout the evening to emphasize the importance of awareness of all of the health issues affecting women today. This event is specifically designed to offer women valuable information about:

  • Breast health by offering breast cancer risk assessments, breast health presentations, and information about mammography
  • Vascular health by offering Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) prevention presentations and assessments
  • Better rest by offering presentations and assessments about chronic sleep disorders.

These health issues are being focused on because of their growing importance to women’s health:

  • Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women, aside from non-melanoma skin cancer, and claims the lives of more than 40,000 women every year in this country (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC). The core of Spirit Girls’ Night Out is the prevention and awareness that fuels action: early detection saves lives!
  • DVT is confirmed in up to 400,000 Americans according to the CDC.
  • Chronic sleep disorders and intermittent sleep problems that can significantly diminish health, alertness and safety affect 50 to 70 million Americans according to the National Institutes of Health. Untreated sleep disorders have been linked to heart disease, stroke, depression, diabetes as well as other chronic diseases.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door (cash or check) or at any of the five Kaleida Health hospital cashier's offices. Gather your friends and pamper yourself with knowledge and fun. After all, every girl deserves a night out!
