UPDATED! Mercy Flight, Town Line Fire joins UNYTS, Roswell Park at Buffalo Stars Health Expo

The Buffalo Stars Junior Hockey Club’s Health Expo scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 3pm to 8pm is getting bigger with two late-added guests.  Mercy Flight is now scheduled to land at Holiday Twin Rinks, 3465 Broadway near Union in Cheektowaga, while representatives of Town Line Fire Company will be on hand to offer blood pressure checks to visitors.  These guests join Upstate New York Transplant Services (UNYTS), who are hosting a blood drive inside the rink, and Roswell Park Cancer Institute, who will be on hand to distribute potentially life-saving information.

While the Health Expo is happening in the rink lobby, the Stars will host two games on the ice.  First, the Stars’ Continental Hockey Association club will face the Springfield (MA) Junior Pics at 4:30pm, followed immediately after by the Stars’ Empire Junior Hockey League team hosting the Brewster (NY) Bulldogs.

People interested in donating blood to UNYTS should contact the Buffalo Stars front office at 716-685-1122.  You must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with adult consent, and in good health.  A photo ID is required to sign up.  Those who donate blood during the Stars’ Health Expo will receive free admission to the games as well as a coupon good for a free personal pizza from Santora’s.
