Visit Buffalo Niagara is hosting this display as the month of remembrance honoring the unique and rich history of African-Americans in the United States, particularly in the city of Buffalo NY. In creating this project the artists wanted to reflect on the historical impact and contributions made in the city of Buffalo NY. Instead of focusing on individuals the project turns its focus on the black community where countless black men and women contributed to the advancement of human civilization.
