Today Create® TV and World television channel’s popular television show Start Up announced that it will feature a trio of Western New York-based businesses as part of its upcoming 2015 production season. The show will interview small-batch coffee roaster Public Espresso, innovative customer loyalty company City Dining Cards, and the new Consumer’s Beverages Craft Cruiser eco/beer-tourism megacycle business.

"Small business is the foundation of growth in America, and even more so in comeback cities like Buffalo, Detroit, Milwaukee and Cleveland,” said Gary Bredow, host, creator, and producer of Start Up. “It all starts with one person or a team of individuals with a shared vision, and I believe we have found three very good examples of that right here in Western New York.”

Film crews will visit with each of the selected startups to interview both the entrepreneurs involved and some of their customers. Production is set to begin on April 28, 2015 and conclude on May 1, 2015 with a “wrap party” at the fellow startup operation Resurgence Brewing Company. The airdate of Buffalo’s Start Up episode is yet to be determined.

“The entrepreneurial movement in Buffalo and Upstate New York is seeing some exciting energy and growth,” said Matt Pokigo, co-owner and president of the Consumer’s Craft Cruiser, which debuts in Western New York later this spring and is sponsored by the chain of popular, locally-owned beverage supply stores. “I commend Gary and his team for their interest in shining a light on the startup renaissance happening in our region and can’t wait to get them to Buffalo so that they can see first hand what an amazing place this city really is to live, start a family, and passionately grow a business.”

Much like the individuals featured on Start Up, show creator and host Gary Bredow is also an entrepreneur. While working at various corporate jobs after college, Bredow dreamt of owning his own business. After years of hard work and dedication, he is now the co-owner of a production studio in Downtown Detroit that specializes in television, film and multi-media production. The idea for Start Up came as a way for Gary to ‘pay-it-forward’ to people around the country that have also felt the calling of someday being their own boss.

“We travel throughout the United States to hear the personal stories of entrepreneurs and find out what it really takes to start a successful business from the ground up,” said Jenny Feterovich, producer, casting and production coordinator of Start Up. “We aim to capture the imagination and hearts of the nearly 50% of Americans who dream of starting their own business.”
