NFBC & You and Who Unveil Commemorative 75th Anniversary T-Shirts

LEWISTON, NY/QUEENSTON, ON – The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission (NFBC) and social good t-shirt company You and Who have unveiled the NFBC 75th Anniversary and Lewiston-Queenston Bridge 50th Anniversary commemorative shirt, which is now available for purchase via nfbc75.com.  For each shirt sold, a meal will be donated to Project Share in Niagara Falls, Ontario, or to Heart, Love, Soul in Niagara Falls, New York.

“Rather than just print up some anniversary t-shirts for staff and local residents, we decided to do something unique and partner with a Buffalo Niagara-based company that produces a quality product, while also giving back to the community,” said NFBC Chairperson Thomas G. Pryce.  “In return, we received a great shirt design and some peace-of-mind that later this year several hundred meals will be served to those in need on both sides of the border.”

“At the core of You and Who’s mission is a hyperlocal focus we want to place on cities and their individual needs. What’s terrific about this partnership is that the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission is utilizing this momentous anniversary to help give back to communities they serve,” said You and Who Founder and President Dan Gigante. “Producing the NFBC’s shirts for this significant milestone not only acknowledges such an event for staff and the community, but also enables us to provide meals to hundreds of hungry people in Niagara Falls bi-national community—the importance of which cannot be underscored. This is a substantial donation, and You and Who was thrilled to be able to facilitate it. NFBC has quality shirts to celebrate the occasion, and simultaneously provides nourishing meals to those in need. Everybody wins.”

In addition to the new shirts, the NFBC is also sponsoring an anniversary fireworks display with the Niagara Parks Commission on the evening of August 23rd, 2013.  New Lewiston-Queenston 50th Anniversary poster art has also been created, and a 75th Anniversary video montage is currently in production for issuance later this year.  An educational outreach initiative to local school districts regarding the history of the NFBC spans will commence this fall, and commemorative logos, interesting facts, and other anniversary features can be accessed online for those interested.
