Crowley Webb Asks Community to “Shine Some Light” on Domestic Violence

BUFFALO, NY – Crowley Webb, a full-service marketing communications agency in Buffalo, NY, today mailed holiday cards to hundreds of friends, family, and clients. But the cards include more than the usual well wishes. There’s a message that encourages recipients to “Shine Some Light” to generate awareness for domestic violence.

The card itself features a single, burning candle. And similar glowing light can be seen from Crowley Webb’s office windows this season.

“A candle in a window has served as a sign of welcome to others for centuries,” said Dave Buck, President, Crowley Webb. “Seen from a distance and shining in good times and bad, it is a sign of friendship and family, warmth and welcoming. That’s what inspired us.”

Through the “Shine Some Light” campaign, Crowley Webb is asking people to share a photo of their own holiday light – whether it’s candles, vintage bulbs, a spotlighted wreath, or an inflatable snowman. The photos will be populated into an online gallery where visitors can view and share photos to raise awareness with the hashtag #ShineSomeLight, as well as make a donation to Child & Family Services Haven House, a licensed domestic violence shelter in Erie County and partner of the Family Justice Center.

“While the holiday season is a time of peace for most, many people in our area are still looking for a light in the window,” added Buck. “And for some, it’s in a local domestic violence shelter. That’s why we’re raising awareness for this issue.”

In keeping with one of Crowley Webb’s longstanding traditions, the agency will make a donation to Haven House at the end of the campaign in January.
