Adding Dates to Summer Tour Schedule for the Grain Elevator District Walking Tour.

   O.K urban explorers and regular people too. If you ever wanted to go inside Buffalo's incredible grain elevators, here is your chance. Instead of just aimlessly exploring, you can actually take a walk inside and learn what they are all about.    This unique tour covers the history, and technology of the elevators, flour mills, and other industries, as well as the general history of the Buffalo River area and Ohio Street. See remnants of canal systems all but forgotton in the city which used to connect to the Erie Canal. Grain elevators and industrial buildings around the world have been centerpieces of economic re-development, they can be here too. Buffalo was the birthplace of the grain elevator, and the greatest grain handling port in the world, something all Buffalonians should be proud of!

    So turn off your TVs, give your computers a rest and get some exercise, with an education included at no extra charge.

Where? Meet in the Historic Swannie House Restaurant, 170 Ohio St. corner of S. Michigan Ave. Buffalo, NY, across from the lift bridge over the Buffalo River. 

Time:  Orientation Begins 11:30 a.m. I limit the size of the group for ease of conversation, & for safety walking the streets so reservations are required by e-mailing to:  tour.buffalo@yahoo.com
