A Wonder of Beauty and High Energy That Has Made Me a Better Person
Finding motivation to be a better person can be challenging for some people especially given the bad news that hits our community’s airwaves regularly.  We are living in a society where crimes against other people seem to always be a regular occurrence especially against children, with little air time for good news that maybe happening in our neighborhoods.   So it can be easy to understand why some people get depressed and less motivated, there is little happiness coming their way.

With all this debt ceiling talk and focus on deficit reduction, a very real discussion is emerging about how the United States will have the necessary revenues to maintain its spending. While none of the likely compromises will include a plan for increasing revenues, it is certainly a consideration for a long-term solution. Of course, one option, which is often proposed as a solution, is to increase taxes. But this sagging economy, which has left millions of Americans with thinner wallets, makes the thought of more taxes hard to swallow.  So politicians and pundits are trying to grease the wheels on this idea.

The Buffalo Infringement Festival is an 11 day celebration of art of all kinds. It takes place in over 50 venues centered in Allentown and spans across the whole city of Buffalo. 

Artists perform in the usual venues and take over the streets of Allentown and the Elmwood Village.


There are 1200 performances and events scheduled in dance, theater, music, poetry, film, and visual installations.

In its 7th year, Infringement has grown tremendously from under 50 proposals in 2005, to 350 this year. Just about every artist in Buffalo takes part in the festival somehow and this year has 30 out- of - town acts coming to perform.

Animal Lovers Oppose Animal Abuse at UniverSoul Circus

Sunday night animal advocacy group Animal Allies of Western New York completed a three day protest of UniverSoul Circus.  The circus was set up in the University at Buffalo parking lot and ran from Thursday, July 7th to Sunday, July10th.  Animal Allies of WNY were on site to educate the public about the suffering endured by animals performing at UniverSoul Circus.
