Riverside Farmers' Market Kicks Off Sunday, July 14

The new Riverside Farmers’ Market will kick off this Sunday, July 14, featuring fresh produce, homemade jams, jellies and sauces, goat milk products (from cheeses to soap!), and much more. Sponsored by Black Rock-Riverside Neighborhood Housing Services and Councilmember Joseph Golombek’s office, the market will run every Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon until September 29.

Riverside Park is one of Buffalo’s Frederick Law Olmsted-designed parks, and in the summer is one of the city’s most vibrant outdoor areas. The Riverside Farmers’ Market’s sponsors are committed to helping it become a sustainable source of healthy, local food that will contribute to the vitality of the northwestern neighborhoods of Buffalo.

“A farmers' market is the perfect venue for the kind of connection between neighbors that helps neighborhoods come together and thrive,” said Debbie Lombardo, Community Outreach Coordinator at Black Rock-Riverside Neighborhood Housing Services. “Whether you are looking for a locally made product, or simply some good conversation, we will have something for everyone.”

The market will also feature Craft Fair Days on the third Sunday of each month, when local artists and artisans will sell a variety of jewelry, home goods, and gifts. Neighbors can follow the Market on Twitter, @RivParkMarket,  find it on Facebook, or follow its blog at  http://farmersmarketriverside.wordpress.com.
