Vendors Needed for Black Rock Farmers’ Market | Community Spirit
West Side & Black Rock-Riverside Neighborhood Housing Services are seeking local residents to sell their own products at a one-day farmers’ market at Market Square Park on Saturday, August 4.
Black Rock residents who grow fresh fruits and vegetables in their gardens, bake goods such as bread, cookies, and cakes, and hand-make their own crafts are encouraged to sign up to sell their products at the market. The registration fee will be waived for the first two residents of Dearborn and East Streets who sign up for a table, and will be discounted for other residents of Black Rock. Interested vendors from outside the target area are also welcome to participate.
In addition to vendors, the market will also feature workshops and a neighborhood “Veggie Swap” table, at which fruit and vegetable growers may trade their own produce for other greens. The event will coincide with the Black Rock & Riverside Tour of Gardens (www.brrgardenwalk.com).
The market will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Market Square Park, which is located at the corner of Niagara and Amherst Streets.
This project is funded through a grant to West Side Neighborhood Housing Services from NeighborWorks® America to encourage and celebrate entrepreneurship in Black Rock.
