Aurora Town Library Closed Wednesday-Friday for Roof Repairs

A Statement Released by the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library System

The roof of the Aurora Town Public Library, 550 Main Street in East Aurora, is currently under construction. As a result of the noise level and strong odor of the adhesives being used to apply the roofing materials (coupled with the need to now heat the materials due to the recent colder weather), the Aurora Town Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 14, Thursday, Nov. 15 and Friday, Nov. 16.  The library should be reopened for regularly scheduled hours on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10a.m-3 p.m.

The project will be wrapped up, weather-permitting, in mid-November.  The bulk of the remaining work will be taking place over the children’s area, front entrance and community room.

A 2012 New York State Library Construction Grant was awarded to the Aurora Town Public Library in June and will cover half of the cost of the roofing project.  The balance of the cost of the project will be funded by the Town of Aurora.

All request items will remain at the Aurora Town Public Library for an additional three days for pick-up when the building reopens unless a patron specifies otherwise.  The drop box will remain open at the library.  Patrons can always access their account information and the Library System catalog 24/7, at www.BuffaloLib.org
