You Are Invited to Audubon’s Thanksgiving with the Birds

You Are Invited to Audubon’s Thanksgiving with the Birds

Jamestown, NY – You are invited to bring your family for a potluck dinner and fun outdoor activities at the Audubon Community Nature Center’s Thanksgiving with the Birds on Saturday, November 19.

Dating to 1965, Thanksgiving with the Birds is Audubon’s oldest continuing tradition.

At 11:30 a.m. you can gather to mix broth-based soup contributions into a big pot over an outdoor fire. The flavor of the resulting appetizer is interesting and unpredictable, and usually delicious.

Audubon provides the roasted turkeys and beverages for the indoor buffet dinner that begins about 12:30. Participants are asked to bring a side dish (dressing, vegetables, potatoes, salad or dessert) and their own table service, including a mug for soup.

After-dinner activities include a talk by nature educator Teresa Corrigan, an elementary school teacher and popular presenter at the Allegany Nature Pilgrimage.
