Ten dollar dinners: Greek Pita Wraps, Avgolemono and Rice Pudding Recipes

There are lots of great Greek restaurants in Western New York. We enjoy the food at the Royal Restaurant on Sheridan and Military in Tonawanda. They have great food, great service and their prices aren't too bad. But sometimes, money is tight and we find ourselves at home craving a Greek food and no money to go out to dinner.

We've found a way around the no money in the budget for take out dilemma. We have learned to make out own versions of our favorites at home. Yesterday, August 9, 2011 was National Rice Pudding Day and we found ourselves craving some creamy rice pudding. The Royal has delicious rice pudding, but since it wasn't pay day, we found ourselves not only craving rice pudding, but strapped for cash as well. We headed home from work to make our own delicious Greek Feast, including rice pudding for dessert. We call this our Ten Dollar Dinner: Greek Edition. Greek pita wrap recipe (vegan version included) Avgolemono soup recipe (Greek lemon rice soup recipe; vegan version included) Vegan banana rice pudding recipe Kozy Shack copycat rice pudding recipe
