The Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, a Western New York tradition featuring more than 30 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local products, is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine. Providing entertainment at the open-air venue this week, Oct. 1, will be singer/guitarist Kate Shaffer from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  

The market also welcomes several community groups this Saturday, including the Richmond Ashland National Register Historic District Initiative, GrowWNY.org, Buffalo ReuseIT and Canisius College Women’s Athletics.

Providing entertainment at the open-air venue this week, Sept. 24, will be violinist David Adamczyk from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  

The market also welcomes several community groups this Saturday, including the Buffalo Animal Shelter, Canopy of Neighbors, Richmond Ashland National Register Historic District Initiative, UNYTS and the SPCA Whisker Wag’n!

Providing entertainment at the open-air venue this week, September 17, will be balloon artist Gary Mooney from 10 a.m. to noon.  

The market also welcomes several community groups this Saturday, including the Buffalo Animal Shelter, Canopy of Neighbors, Richmond Ashland National Register Historic District Initiative, Border Community Service Project and UNYTS. Schulze Vineyards & Winery and Liberty Vineyards & Winery will offer wine-tasting.

The Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, a Western New York tradition featuring more than 30 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local products, is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine. Providing musical entertainment at the open-air venue this week, Aug. 27, will be singer/guitarist Kate Shaffer from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Members of the Niagara Frontier Plein Air Painters will also make their annual visit to the market to put their creativity on display. 

The market also welcomes several community groups this week, including the Richmond Ashland National Register Historic District Initiative, Massachusetts Avenue Project, Assumption Church and Our Lady of Black Rock School, and the popular SPCA Whisker Wag’n! Arrowhead Spring Vineyards and Schulze Vineyards & Winery will offer wine-tasting.

Brush Up Buffalo’s 15th Event to Take Place in Buffalo Promise Neighborhood

Buffalo, NY – Brush Up Buffalo, a not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization focused on revitalizing City of Buffalo neighborhoods, recently announced that it will repaint 15 low-income homes with the help of 400 volunteers in the nationally-designated Buffalo Promise Neighborhood on Saturday, September 10, 2011.

Designated avenues and streets for Brush Up Buffalo 2011 – Westminster, East Amherst, Stockbridge and Berkshire – are in a relatively tight cluster and are near Westminster Community Charter School, where Brush Up Buffalo will set up operations for check-in and lunch.  (Parking will be at the Erie County Medical Center parking lot, with shuttles to the school.)  At least 25 volunteers will be needed to paint on each house; no prior painting experience is necessary.
