Back by Popular Demand ... Delaware Neighborhood Tour of Homes

Back by Popular Demand ... Delaware Neighborhood Tour of Homes

On Saturday, June 25th, the Theodore Roosevelt Site and Preservation Buffalo Niagara’s Buffalo Tours will join forces again to present a walking tour event that is sure to be a show-stopper - the Delaware Neighborhood Tour of Homes. Throughout Buffalo’s Golden Age, which lasted from the Civil War to the 1920s, Delaware Avenue was the most desirable place to live and a treasure trove of magnificent homes designed by the country’s most renowned architects were built on the grand thoroughfare.  Eventually, streets that paralleled and crossed Delaware became equally desirable and magnificent homes were built by some of the same architects.

Lifesaving Tips from the Firemen’s Association of the State of NY…

With Memorial Day weekend right around the corner, many people will be hosting backyard barbecues. The Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) is reminding residents to follow important fire safety tips so that they can enjoy a safe summer season.

“The outdoor cookout season will soon be in full swing.  Unfortunately, a barbecue grill could start a fire if certain safety rules are ignored,” said Firemen’s Association of the State of New York President David Jacobowitz.  “It’s important to position the grill far away from siding, deck railings, trees and other flammables. When gatherings involve children, it’s critical that a child-free zone of at least three feet is established around the grill.”
