Ryan Miller Whipping Up Support for Western-Themed 'Catwalk for a Cause'

BUFFALO, NY - Local athletes and celebrities are shining up their spurs and dusting off their Stetsons for the Steadfast Foundation's sixth-annual Catwalk for a Cause. This year's theme: Wrangling for a Cause. Think modern-day Nashville and the Old West meets Buffalo, with cowboy hats, boots and bandanas, chaps, rodeo buckles, and, of course, lots of denim.

The event at the Town Ballroom in Downtown Buffalo kicks off on Sunday, December 4, at 6 p.m. with a VIP Red Carpet hosted by E! Chief News Correspondent, and Buffalo native, Ken Baker.

Ryan's dad, Dean Miller, spoke with 2 On Your Side's Jodi Johnston about the event during Friday's Daybreak show. (Click on the video link above to see the interview.)

Local and national celebrities from sports and the movies will be participating in the catwalk and wrangling support for an exciting live auction. Items up for purchase include a Kentucky Derby Getaway package and Keith Urban's signed guitar from a recent Buffalo performance.

Live entertainment will be provided by Scott Militello and the Heritage and Wild Nik West. Food from the area's finest restaurants, including Dina's of Ellicottville, NY, will be served.

New this year is an online auction, for those who can't attend the catwalk, that runs until 7:45 p.m. on December 4. Items offered include autographed memorabilia and other one-of-a-kind items.

Founded by Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller, the goal of the Steadfast Foundation is to provide cancer patients and their families support to help develop and maintain positive attitudes, and help nurture an environment conducive to effectively battling the disease. The Steadfast Foundation sponsors the psychosocial programs offered through Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Carly's Club to benefit young cancer patients and their support teams.
