BUFFALO, NY - And with a number of accidents on the road lately, it's a good time to remind the public about motorcycle safety.
And that's exactly what a number of bikers and local leaders did Saturday outside of the Rath Building.
The group American Bikers Aimed Toward Education, or ABATE, called for drivers to keep their eyes on the roads and to look out for motorcycles as the good weather continues.
ABATE held their 23rd annual Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Ride that included multiple police departments.
Erie County Exexcutive Mark Poloncarz was at Saturday's event to join the grouop in kicking off the motorcycle season.
The DMV says in 2010 Erie County was third in the state when it came to motorcycle fatalities, with 9 over the season.
