Suspect in Custody from Downtown Metro Rail Stabbing

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Buffalo Police say two people were stabbed Thursday afternoon near the outbound Erie Canal Harbor Metro Rail Station on the 100 block of Main Street.

As of 8:00 p.m. Thursday, police say a suspect is in custody and charges are being finalized.

Investigators say a man and a woman were stabbed and the injuries to the woman appear to be serious.  Both victims were taken to ECMC.  We're told they're expected to survive.

Police say they caught up with the suspect in the area of Washington and Seneca Streets after he attempted to run from the scene.

Detectives say the three people involved may have known each other.
