Buffalo, NY - Buffalo Police say a series of weekend raids helped them get criminals, weapons and drugs off the street.
Operation Street Sweeper took place last Wednesday and Thursday. The department says 76 people were arrested, 16 guns were taken off the streets and drugs such as crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana were confiscated. Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda said they also got some good leads. "A lot of intelligence was gained. A lot of information was gained on the recent homicides and shootings. I think some of the information we got the other day will lead to arrests sometime in the very near future."
