CEO: Bomb Threat at ECMC was "Cowardly" and "Despicable"
News

BUFFALO, NY - Shortly after the bomb threat at ECMC today was given the "all clear" by Buffalo Police, the hospitals CEO released the following statement:

"Shame on the person who made today's cowardly threat that interrupted patient care and the healing process from yesterday's incident. This is a despicable act, and we will do everything to find this person and prosecute him or her to the fullest extent of the law. Once again, the disaster preparedness team did an excellent job. I must also acknowledge the strength and dedication of our care providers and their commitment to our community. The community has been very supportive of ECMC during this difficult time. This is another example of Western New Yorkers taking care of Western New Yorkers. The events of the last two days will not deter us from what we do best--take care of the patients of our community."

Jody Lomeo
CEO
Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) Corporation
Buffalo, NY

The bomb threat came a day after 33 year old Jackie Wisniewski was shot to death at the D.K. Miller Medical Office Building at Erie County Medical Center. The person of interest in the shooting is still on the loose, ECMC trauma surgeon Dr. Timothy Jorden.
