New Restaurant Set To Open On Main Street | News

BUFFALO, NY - After three others have tried and failed, a brand new upscale restaurant is scheduled to open in the 600-block of Main Street later this year. It will also bring some much needed job opportunities as well.

"Perfetto" which means perfect in Italian is going to open it's doors at 619 Main Street. For the past 7-years that very location remained vacant following the closing of the Ya Ya Brewhouse after a three year run.

Owner Jay Haynes, who also owns Jay's Hilltop Bistro in Angola told 2 On Your Side, Perfetto will also showcase comedy, theatrical, and jazz performances.

Haynes says what will help his business tremendously is when the city opens that portion of Main Street to vehicular traffic next year.

"It's great to have a wonderful venue but people got to be able to get here. The reintroduction of vehicular traffic on Main Street was paramount in my decision process," said Haynes.

Mayor Byron Brown said the city's $6.7 million plan to incorporate it's car sharing Main Street should be completed sometime in September 2013.

Meanwhile, Haynes plans to hire 50-new employees in the next few weeks, but so far hasn't come up with a definite opening date.
