Public Hearing on Future of Former AM&A's Building | News
BUFFALO, NY - Developer Rocco Termini recently renovated the historic Lafayette Hotel. Now he's looking for financial assistance to redevelop the old AM&A's department store property.
The nearly 400,000-square-foot building on Main Street in downtown Buffalo has been empty since 1994, but that may soon change if Termini gets his wish.
A public hearing was held on Monday to discuss Termini's request for a sales tax exemption and mortgage tax exemption from the Erie County Industrial Development Agency. It's part of an adaptive reuse program that provides incentives to develop abandoned buildings.
Termini is still awaiting the governor's signature on the historic tax credit that was recently passed by the state assembly and senate.
