Father Joe Moreno Found Dead | News
BUFFALO, N.Y. - It's a sad day for many families across Western New York who knew Father Joseph "Joe" Moreno.
Buffalo Police responded to Saint Lawrence Church on East Delavan Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday.
Police say Father Moreno was found dead in the rectory of Saint Lawrence Church by a church employee.
According to a Buffalo Police spokesperson, Moreno had served as an unofficial Police Chaplain.
Police tell 2 on Your Side that an autopsy will be completed and that detectives do not suspect foul play in his death.
Father Moreno's family has been notified.
No other details from police are available on the cause of death.

Father Joe Moreno was involved in a wide range of community projects during his time at St. Lawrence Church.
There will be an interfaith prayer service for Fr. Joe Moreno at 6 p.m. Sunday at Saint Lawrence Church. Parishioners are asking that those coming bring a candle and a balloon to release.
