BUFFALO, NY-- Friends and family gathered Tuesday evening to hold a vigil for a Buffalo woman killed early Monday morning in a car accident.

Buffalo police say 22-year-old Lanesha Cleveland was killed in the rollover accident at the intersection of Delaware and Tupper.

Three other passengers were in the vehicle and taken to ECMC. 21-year-old Destinee McBride and 21-year-old Shania Duncan were treated and released. 28-year-old John Hayward is listed in fair condition.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.

Thousands Visit Buffalo Waterfront, More Work Needed

BUFFALO, NY - Thousands and thousands of people made their way to Buffalo's waterfront over the long holiday weekend. So many that it even surprised the man responsible for development along the inner harbor. But despite the success, there's still a lot of work left to be done!

Kendra Goga is from Detroit and wishes she had some waterfront development back home. She has visited Buffalo for years and notices the difference by the water this year.

"We really like it down here," Goga said.

And judging by the crowds lately, so do many others. Tom Dee, the president of the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation, says about 40,000 people have visited the waterfront in the past ten days; coming for concerts, fireworks or just enjoying the weather.

"Friday Saturday, Sunday and Monday I would say we had at least three thousand people each day," said Dee.

Waterfront Activity Includes Canal History Tour

Buffalo, NY - It's been a busy season on the Buffalo Waterfront with new restaurants and new attractions. One of the new attractions being offered are canal tours on the history of the Erie Canal and the Inner Harbor.

The Buffalo Tours group of Preservation Buffalo - Niagara organization are now offering one-hour tours on the weekend and more people are showing an interest in this unique opportunity.

"You've given people a reason to come down to the waterfront and they really like to get a sense of what was here," said tour guide Maureen Evans. "This is a micro-history of America told in Buffalo."

The tours run Friday, Saturday and Sunday at noon through September and are free to the public.

"Clinton's Dish" Opens at the Commercial Slip

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- "Clinton's Dish" opened Friday at the Commercial Slip offering patrons another food option on the waterfront.  This comes as the possibility of another restaurant is real.

The Naval and Serviceman's Park is currently in talks with the city of Buffalo to work out a deal that would bring an additional restaurant to a building on park grounds.

There is currently a disconnect between the two sides as the city wants a portion of rent profits from the park.  Park officials tell Channel 2 that while they are in discussions with city leaders and are committed to figuring out a compromise, they are not looking to pay the city a profit while maintaining ships that are technically, the city's responsibility.

Mayor Byron Brown says he too wants to work out a deal and is committed to making it work but also acknowledges that the Naval Park are tenants of the city.
