NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- Advertising Age, a national advertising magazine, slammed the new slogan for the Queen City, "Buffalo: For Real" stating that it was empty and didn't give people a reason to visit.
Rupal Parekh wrote the article for Ad Age stating that "Tourism slogans are reliably corny, but last week New York state took the grand prize for "Huh?" with a newly anointed slogan for its fair city to the north that's best known for it's proximity to Niagara Falls and everyone's favorite 25-cent bar snack."
Parekh told 2 On Your Side's Marissa Bailey via Skype Wednesday that she and her colleagues at Ad Age "had a good laugh" about the new slogan.
"It just seemed so bad and so off base and there's no real curiosity that's being built as a result of this positioning. It really just seems like more of a missed opportunity." said Parekh.
