HUD Program Helps Homeowners Catch Up With Mortgage Payments

The Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program (EHLP) was created to help homeowners who are temporarily and involuntarily unemployed or underemployed due to economic conditions or a medical condition, and are at risk of foreclosure.

The EHLP will provide eligible homeowners with emergency assistance that pays a portion of their monthly mortgage payment for up to 24 consecutive months, or up to $50,000, whichever occurs first.

Because demand for EHLP assistance is expected to be extremely high, applicants must qualify by completing a Pre-Application Screening Worksheet and Third Party Authorization. THESE DOCUMENTS MUST BE TURNED INTO AN APPROVED AGENCY BY JULY 22 - NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE.

Please CLICK HERE to refer to the EHLP pre-screening requirements to see if you are eligible for the EHLP program. If you meet these requirements and wish to apply for the program, please follow the steps below.
