On Saturday, May 18 the Historic Preservation Committee of the Black Rock-Riverside Good Neighbor Planning Alliance will hold a War of 1812 event titled STARS ALONG SCAJAQUADA.

 When: May 18, 2013 from 6 - 9 PMWhere: Foot of Peter Street off Amherst Street by Assumption Church Three lectures on the War of 1812:6:30 War of 1812 Bateaux by Chris Andrie from the Maritime Center7:00 Bisshopp’s Raid by Doug Kohler, Erie County Historian and reenactor7:30 Perry’s Other Arm-Scajaquada Creek Naval Yard by John Percy, Town of Tonawanda Historian War of 1812 Exhibits from the Binational Art History Collection War of 1812 Music by the Irish Volunteeres Music Group Colonial Blacksmithing by Leon Briggs War of 1812 Reenactors Bateaus or small boat launch in Scajaquada Creek from the Maritime Center on Arthur Street Horse and buggy rides along the Black Rock Heritage Trail Lighted stars will hang from trees along the Scajaquada Creek Amy’s Food Truck will be on site for this event. Events are free and open to the public:For information contact Doreen DeBoth at 716-874-2863 or Warren Glover at 716-836-2903
