Friends of Harmony Annual Spring Show a Tribute to Those Fabulous Fifties

 

The Friends of Harmony male a Capella chorus, under the direction of Brett Heintzman, will be performing "Those Fabulous Fifties", a musical extravaganza packed with doo-wop, love ballads and enduring classics from that incredible musical era. Performances will be on Friday, May 4th at the East Aurora High School and on Saturday, May 5th at the Sweet Home High School in Amherst . Both shows start at 7:30PM.

Enjoy the classics made famous by Bobby Vinton, the Del Vikings, Neil Sedaka, The Righteous Brothers and others all sung in beautiful 4-part harmony. Admission starts at $15.00 for seniors and students and $17.00 for all others. Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the show for $17.00 and $20.00.

City Residents Invited to Share Input for Broderick Park Master Plan

BUFFALO, NY- Mayor Byron W. Brown today announced that the first of two meetings will be held later this month to gather feedback from the public on the proposed Master Plan for Broderick Park, which is located at the foot of West Ferry Street and is a prime location along the Niagara River. 

“Improving access to Buffalo’s waterfront is something our citizens want,” said Mayor Brown.  “For this reason, I encourage residents to attend these meetings, and share their input on vital improvements that will ultimately lead to Broderick Park’s full restoration.”

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Two faculty members in the University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning have won an international design competition with their proposal that the public be given free rein to take over derelict strip mall sites like Buffalo's Central Park Plaza and design and build their own urban communities in a manner that would be, they say, "not unlike the settling of the American frontier."

New Leadership Changes Made by Preservation Buffalo Niagara Board of Trustees

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Preservation Buffalo Niagara (PBN) host of the 2011 National Trust Conference announces that current executive director, Henry McCartney, will be stepping down effective March 1st.  Henry will continue his service to PBN with select projects.  PBN owes an enormous debt of gratitude and appreciation to Henry for his leadership and guidance for almost four years.  Helping PBN with the initial stages of organizational development, he began as executive director in October, 2008, immediately hiring staff, securing grants, managing day-to-day details, building an organization and thinking ahead for the National Preservation Conference, which took place in October of 2011 and was an enormous success for the Western New York community.

Tom Yots will become the new Executive Director effective March 1st.  Tom is a current PBN
