448 Elmwood Celebrates Grand Opening in Buffalo’s Elmwood Village

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and Common Council Member David Rivera were on hand Wednesday, May 25, to help cut the ribbon at the grand opening of 448 Elmwood, a new building now home to 12 luxury apartments, Coffee Culture, ICU Optical Sunglasses and additional commercial space. Partners in the project are The Krog Corporation of Orchard Park, The Frizlen Group Architects of Buffalo and Michael Ferdman.

Located in Buffalo’s Elmwood Village, 448 Elmwood stands on a corner formerly occupied by a vacant fast-food restaurant. The location is just five minutes from downtown Buffalo and the Peace Bridge.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Uniland Development Company recently completed a 29-room expansion at the Embassy Suites Buffalo designed to accommodate more meetings and events.  The additional 29 rooms occupy the 8th floor of Avant at 200 Delaware Avenue, bringing the total number of rooms offered to 182.  Work began in November 2010 and was completed on time to accommodate summer travelers along with a full calendar of meetings and special events.

“The demand for hotel rooms coupled with increased banquets and meetings helped us make the decision to expand.  Believe it or not the new rooms are already sold out,” said Bryan Drew, general manager.  “We’re couldn’t be more pleased with the response from the Buffalo Niagara community and its visitors.”

The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency (NCIDA) Board of Directors today induced the application of assistance from the Greater Lockport Development Corporation (GLDC) for renovations to 57 Canal Street in the historic locks district in downtown Lockport.  The building is owned by the city of Lockport and leased to the GLDC.  The induced application for the GLDC is for a five-year PILOT is the first ever application through the Niagara County Opportunity Zone Program, which was created by the NCIDA to provide financial incentives in the form of tax abatements to commercial, retail and tourism based businesses to encourage reinvestment to rebuild urban centers in Niagara County.

Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-27) and West Side Neighborhood Services announce help for Western New York, through a $68,150 grant from NeighborWorks® America, at a time when communities are taking early steps back from the housing crisis and jobs need to be created most.   This flexible funding source will help West Side Neighborhood Housing Services in a variety of ways, including providing key service delivery funds for homebuyer education, owner-occupied rehabilitation, foreclosure prevention and community building programs.

(BUFFALO, N.Y.) –The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) signed a lease for 23,877 square feet of office space at 300 Airborne Parkway, located in Uniland Development Company’s Airborne Business Park. The space will be occupied by a division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
