The Genesee Brew House Opens its Doors in Rochester

Rochester, New York – The Genesee Brewery held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 31 to unveil The Genesee Brew House and announce details of its grand opening. The public grand opening celebration on Sept. 8 will feature a free concert, tours of the pilot brewery, beer tastings for individuals who are 21 years of age or older, food and more.

“The Genesee Brew House commemorates Genesee brewery employees and our loyal fans,” said Rich Lozyniak, CEO of North American Breweries, Genesee’s parent company. “It captures Genesee’s rich history while paying tribute to brewing in Rochester, New York.”

Marco's Is Worth A Trip to the West Side

Marco's Is Worth A Trip to the West Side

I don’t normally get that excited when Alli and I go to Italian restaurants, but since we started Buffalo Eats I’ve heard only good things about Marco’s Fine Italian Dining. I previously visited Marco’s Deli and loved the food, plus I knew chef Marco Sciortino had some serious chops after watching the Nickel City Chef XII Recap. The restaurant isn’t in the prettiest of places, located on Niagara Street near the Rich Products plant in the West Side, but that definitely doesn’t detour their customers. In the grass “parking lot” across the street we found plenty of luxury cars and inside was a busy crowd on a Friday evening.

Nickel City Cheese Offers Sandwiches and Gourmet Goodies

Nickel City Cheese Offers Sandwiches and Gourmet Goodies

A few months ago Nickel City Cheese & Mercantile moved onto Elmwood, taking over the building that was former home to Tabree. Run by Jill Forster (Steve Gedra’s (Bistro Europa) sister), its given the city of Buffalo a gourmet grocery store offering a large variety of premium cheese from all over the world, charcuterie, olives and other delicious foodie delights. Jill is fantastic and came over to the Buffalo Eats studio last week and talked about her shop, her background and how she made her way into the world of cheese. That podcast will debut next Tuesday (Aug 21st) and I highly suggest you take a listen to it.
