Madden NFL 12 Boasts New Features and Presentations

Madden NFL 12 Boasts New Features and Presentations

EA Sports. It's In The Game. We have heard this in every single EA Sports title for many years now, but this year, Madden NFL 12 seems to have just about everything in the game. From the new Dynamic Player Performance system to the new NBC-style presentation, Madden NFL 12 is without a doubt the most realistic, authentic and easy to pick-up-and-play Madden in a very long time. I know we all wanted one of the Buffalo Bills to be on the cover of Madden 12, but this year it's Cleveland Browns fullback Peyton Hillis. Madden NFL 12 will be hitting store shelves at Gamestop, Walmart and other locations where video games are sold here in Buffalo, NY on August 30th for $59.99 If you preorder your copy of Madden, you will receive exclusive All-Star teams from the NFC and AFC.

Enjoy a Game, a Walk or a Bike Ride at London’s Premier Athletic Fields

Enjoy a Game, a Walk or a Bike Ride at London’s Premier Athletic Fields

The next time you find yourself in need of a relaxing break from the daily grind, consider a trip to nearby London, Ontario, where London’s “Field of Dreams” awaits! The North London Athletic Fields have that far-away feel ... a place where you can enjoy a casual walk, a healthy bike ride or simply sit back and enjoy a ballgame.

The North London Athletic Fields have a history as the site for enthusiastic athletic competition within London’s active sporting community. In 2001, major improvements were made to the site, which have upgraded it’s status to a premier sports facility. This is due, in part, to the park’s advanced irrigation system, field house, six soccer fields and three baseball diamonds.

Hit the Beach with Carly's Crossing

Hit the Beach with Carly's Crossing

Hundreds of Western New York swimmers are expected to take part in the ninth annual Carly’s Crossing to raise funds for Carly’s Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Carly’s Crossing is Western New York’s largest open-water swim event and will be held on Sunday, August 14 from 7 am to 3 pm in Buffalo’s Small Boat Harbor (1111 Fuhrmann Boulevard, Buffalo).

Swimmers can choose from a one-mile timed or non-competitive course, or a 600-yard non-competitive course. For the first time, supporters also can choose to sign up as a “virtual swimmer” and raise funds for Carly’s Club without swimming. Carly’s Crossing features a post-swim party on the beach that offers family-friendly activities including face painting, bounce houses, games, raffles and more. There is no admission fee for attending the on-land party.

WNY Baseball Fans Will Appreciate the History of Labatt Park

WNY Baseball Fans Will Appreciate the History of Labatt Park

Labatt Park — known as Tecumseh Park when it was built in nearby London, Ontario, in 1877 — is believed to be the “world's oldest baseball park in continuous use in its original location.” But that label doesn’t come without a wee bit of controversy.

Several U.S. baseball websites list Rickwood Field in Alabama as the “World's Oldest Ballpark” on the rationale that the stadium still retains some of its original 1910 grandstand. While Labatt Park is currently using its fourth main grandstand, the site and field is the oldest known ballpark in continuous use in the world. Nestled at the forks of the Thames River, London’s landmark field has been a center for sports, recreational and cultural activities for more than 130 years!
