Today Create® TV and World television channel’s popular television show Start Up announced that it will feature a trio of Western New York-based businesses as part of its upcoming 2015 production season. The show will interview small-batch coffee roaster Public Espresso, innovative customer loyalty company City Dining Cards, and the new Consumer’s Beverages Craft Cruiser eco/beer-tourism megacycle business.

"Small business is the foundation of growth in America, and even more so in comeback cities like Buffalo, Detroit, Milwaukee and Cleveland,” said Gary Bredow, host, creator, and producer of Start Up. “It all starts with one person or a team of individuals with a shared vision, and I believe we have found three very good examples of that right here in Western New York.”

In an effort to make our roads safer, The Resource Training Center in Amherst announced today that it has joined the “One Text or Call Could Wreck It All” campaign to stop distracted driving. Program Director Monica Farrar has pledged her support to help spread the message that distracted drivers are not only a danger to themselves, but everyone else on the road.

St. Patrick's Day brings to mind shamrocks, leprechauns, pots of gold and good luck. But no amount of luck can save you from a drunk-driving crash. Unfortunately, March 17 has become a deadly day in the United States with a dramatic spike in drunk-driving fatalities, according to Monica Farrar, program director of The Resource Training Center in Amherst.

Student teams from the Erie 2 Chautauqua Cattaraugus BOCES LoGuidice Educational Center and the Erie 1 BOCES Kenton Career & Technical Center won top honors at the annual NFADA Ron Smith Memorial AutoTech Competition and Tire Rodeo held Jan. 17 in Orchard Park. The competition took place at the Erie Community College-Vehicle Technology Training Center located at 5885 Big Tree Road, Orchard Park.

Come See the Cars — and the Stars — at the 2015 Buffalo Auto Show

 

The Buffalo Auto Show, Western New York’s premier new vehicle automotive event, will take place from Feb. 5-8 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. In addition to seeing every brand new car sold in WNY on display, attendees will have a chance to meet and obtain autographs from some of Buffalo greatest star athletes!

Buffalo Bandits Ryan Benesch, Dhane Smith and Brandon Goodwin, along with some members of the Buffalo Bandettes, will visit the Buffalo Auto Show from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, for a free autograph session. Benesch and Smith are among the team’s leading scorers this year, while Goodwin is playing in his first NLL season.
