EARTHLINGS Screening at The Screening Room
Environment, Events

There will be a FREE screening of Earthlings held at The Screening Room, located at 3131 Sheridan Drive on Monday November 22nd at 6pm. Snacks will be available. Donations are appreciated, and will be collected with half being donated to Nation Earth, the makers of the film, and the other to Farm Sanctuary. (See the official trailer after the fold. )

On the Earthlings site, the film is described as follows:

"EARTHLINGS is an award-winning documentary film about the suffering of animals for food, fashion, pets, entertainment and medical research. Considered the most persuasive documentary ever made, EARTHLINGS is nicknamed “the Vegan maker” for its sensitive footage shot at animal shelters, pet stores, puppy mills, factory farms, slaughterhouses, the leather and fur trades, sporting events, circuses and research labs.

The film is narrated by Academy Award® nominee Joaquin Phoenix and features music by platinum-selling recording artist Moby. Initially ignored by distributors, today EARTHLINGS is considered the definitive animal rights film by organizations around the world. “Of all the films I have ever made, this is the one that gets people talking the most,” said Phoenix. “For every one person who sees EARTHLINGS, they will tell three.”

There have not been any recent screenings of this film in the vicinity of the Buffalo area, or in the U.S. for a few years. The screening is free, and this film is an absolute must see for for anyone, who even just for a moment, wonders what it is that their dollar buys, from buying from a breeder, to a pair of leather boots, to the cosmetics you use, this film will open your eyes to the reality of what your dollar really supports in nearly every purchase you make.
